.About Me
Anyway, let me introduce my self – in this short little biography.…My full name is “Manimbul Erixon Sihite” many friends of mine told me that it’s such an unique name – actually, I am Batakese and I’m proud of it – Anyway,.. friends used to call me “Erix”. I was born at 8th July 1986 in a misting village called Giham Sukamaju – Liwa ( Lampung). At the age of 6 I started playing piano - infact, my father used to take me to a piano teacher to learn how to play some songs for the church, and if I don't master at least one song every week, I'll get punished. In the age of 9, I move to Bandar Lampung City to get a better education – while my family stayed in Giham Sukamaju.. I lived with two big brothers of mine at Teluk Betung – we often had fought each other back then...hehe... Soon I take an electone course at Yamaha Music Course – but then failed at level 7 after had a mouth fight with my teacher. Since what has happened, I was getting lack of interest with that piano key things instrument. And I finally gave it up…and start eating and becoming a maniac gamer – I was 155cm / 70 kg when I was in junior high school…haha.. such an obesity…
One day when I was in the senior high school, my school held some kind of “battle of the band”. My friend from band called “Satisfy” confused ‘cause their drummer resigned for some unknown reason, so then I offered help (though I only knew a bit about drumming at that time ...hahaha…).. I remember that, we practiced songs from “Padi – Sesuatu yang indah” and “/RIF – Loe Toe Ye”. We only practiced twice and then just go hit the stage. It was my first –band act stage- and I felt so nervous. I even can’t feel my feet and my hands couldn’t stop shaking. So then the music play,…. The music was totally a mess, but we just pretended like we didn’t care about it at all..just act like a professional musician… until then the music over, and there still some applause for us.. Hahahaha… Actually, it was 100 % shameless act I ever done… but I felt so happy…( Finally, I can felt how does it feel to play music in a group, understanding how other people act, work together and so on..and so on…)… Maybe that was the cause of why I was into drum ‘til this time….
It’s been six years now since I started to get into drumming. Yet, I’m not a great player after all. But I do love drum from my deepest heart. I can’t play samba, bossa, swing or any other of those groove needed drumming style…I even only understand a bit about progressive drumming. All I can play is kind of that so called rock/alternative/metal drumming. And I do love extreme drumming, including those blast beat, hyper blast, grind and grind…. Beside of that, I love playing video games. My favorite games are Final Fantasy series (especially FF VIII), Tekken, and Dance – Dance Revolution…. Talking about physical and attitude…I’m just a short guy with 162cm/54kg of height and weight.…a bit introvert yet talkative…Well,…maybe that’s all I can say… Hopefully we can be friends….
